Lynda Carter
Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Juanita (nee Cordova) and Colby Carter.Her father is of English and Scots-Irish heritage and her mother, whose family hailed from Mexico she is of Mexican, Spanish, and French descent. A brother named Vincent and a sister, Pamela, are her siblings. Carter, age 5, made her public television debut at Lew King's Talent Show. Carter joined a band called Just Us in high school. The group played a conga drum and marimba. They also performed on an acoustic and the stand-up bass that was played by another band member. Lynda started singing at a local pizzeria when she was just 15. 8] At the age of 16 years old, she joined with two of her cousins from a different band called The Relatives. The band's drummer was Gary Burghoff, an actor. The band was first introduced in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel and Casino Lounge. Carter was 21 years old when she was seated in the kitchen. After being named "Most talented" at the age of 18, she left to pursue a career in the field of music. Carter was a candidate for The Garfin Gathering in 1970. She then went on the road with Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first show together was at the Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel so new that it did not have a sidewalk entrance. They played mostly to hotel staff and guests, who parked their cars underground. The Garfin Gathering toured the Nevada "Silver Circuit" performing shows in numerous casinos in the state's lounges in between Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas. Carter made the decision to leave the Garfin Gathering in 1972 to pursue acting. She then returned to Arizona.
