In March 2014, Rickards was cast in the sequel to Cowgirls 'n Angels, entitled Cowgirls 'n Angels: Dakota's Summer, as Kristen Rose, the sister of the main character, Dakota who is played by Haley Ramm. The film premiered at the 2014 Dallas International Film Festival. In 2015, she appeared as a support role for her role in the Oscar award-winning film Brooklyn. [14] She appearedeed on screen in Slumber (2016) which she co-starred which she co-starred with Darby Stanchfield and Meaghan Rth. Filming took place at Los Angeles in May 2016. The film was second in the Slamdance Film Festival in January 2018,[21] in the festival's 'Beyond' programme. It won numerous awards which included the Stolman Audience Award for Best American Independent Film at 2018 Sonoma International Film Festival. [23] Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival audience award for best feature. Rickards took home the most popular actress award at Southampton International Film Festival. Todd Wolfe wrote and directed the documentary We Need to Talk in May 2019 along with James Maslow.
